Forza Tuned gets an up close and personal look at the baddest Tesla Model X I’ve ever seen!
“A common misconception is that Tesla is an exotic automaker from a faraway land. Nope, Tesla is made with pride right here in the good old U.S. of A. In fact, many of the lithium-ion batteries used by other electric vehicle manufacturers are also produced by Tesla. The Tesla Model X is the latest model added to the Tesla lineup. Adding the P100 D package makes it arguably the most responsive SUV on the market – at least from a low-end acceleration standpoint. The Tesla Model X P100 D utilizes a pair of electric motors (one on each axle), and a low center of gravity, to accomplish a mind-numbing level of acceleration that is virtually instantaneous. The combination of electric motors and batteries provide the equivalent of 762hp. The front motor can make 259hp and 243 lb.-ft. of torque and the rear axle churns out a whopping 503hp and 467 lb.-ft. of torque! According to Car and Driver Magazine, the Tesla Model X P100 D – in Ludicrous Mode – is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in only 2.6-seconds. Question is, can the innovative Tesla Model X P100 D handle the sheer power of the mighty Jeep Trackhawk?”
