Watch this C8 Corvette lead Kentucky State Police on a crazy high speed pursuit after being clocked at 105mph. The mid engined sports car nearly lost authorities after multiple reckless high speed maneuvers forcing police to temporarily terminate the chase. Luckily for police they were able to intercept the suspect on backroads where eventually wrecked into the woods resulting in a fire. I bet he won’t try that again! A Paducah man is in custody Wednesday after Kentucky State Police and McCracken County Sheriff’s Office pursued a vehicle in a high-speed chase that ended deep in the woods of Bloom Avenue in McCracken County. A news release from Kentucky State Police said a trooper saw a red Chevrolet Corvette driving at 105 miles per hour just before 11 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 69 near Draffenville. The trooper tried to stop the driver, who sped up in an attempt to flee. The chase continued on to I-24 in McCracken County, and the car passed multiple other vehicles on the shoulder of the interstate before exiting at Husbands Road in Paducah. The Corvette turned onto a dead-end road and then crashed in a wooded area. Dean Patterson, a lieutenant with Kentucky State Police Post 1, said the vehicle was not totaled, but did sustain front-end damage. The driver of the car, Otis McKinney, 29, was arrested and charged with offenses in Marshall and McCracken Counties including reckless driving, wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, and criminal mischief, according to KSP. According to Patterson, authorities have attempted to stop McKinney on several occasions unsuccessfully, although this is McKinney’s first encounter with Kentucky State Police. McCracken County Sheriff Ryan Norman said he’s unsure of the driver’s crime record or of any outstanding warrants. He could have stopped when law enforcement got behind him. Received a speeding ticket or some type of violation and gone on about his day,” Norman said. “He chose not to… and he’s going to go to jail for that. We don’t want [high-speed pursuits] to happen because again, it’s a risk to the public, it’s a risk to law enforcement, and it’s a risk to them.” Norman reported no injuries in the Wednesday incident for members of law enforcement, McKinney or the passenger of the Corvette, or any member of the public.”
