Welp, yet another reason why you shouldn’t run from Georgia State Patrol. Watch this dude nearly cook himself after killing his friend in an effort escape police. The only amazing thing about this video to me is that he actually beat the felony murder charge. “On April 9, 2021, at approximately 0303 hours, I was patrolling on Interstate 85 North, just north of Interstate 75 North. I observed a white passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed in the HOV lane. I checked the vehicle’s speed with my radar at 95 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour speed zone. I observed the vehicle to be a white passenger car, and I observed the vehicle fail to maintain its lane multiple times. I continued following the vehicle until I located a safe place to initiate a traffic stop. We continued traveling on Interstate 85 North near Georgia 400 North where I knew there was a large gore space at this location. I activated my emergency equipment, blue lights, and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. I contacted Troop C Communications and advised them of my location, vehicle description, and the tag on the vehicle. The driver continued to travel onto Georgia 400 North in the left lane. The driver then accelerated at a high rate of speed. I then activated my siren and advised Troop C Communications that I was now in pursuit of the vehicle. The driver continued traveling on Georgia 400 North at a high rate of speed and making erratic lane changes. The driver then turned off the lights on the vehicle. We continued traveling on Georgia 400 North and then the driver exited off of Georgia 400 North onto Lenox Road at an extremely high rate of speed. I advised Troop C Communications that the driver was exiting onto Lenox Road. I observed the driver travel through the red light at the intersection almost striking another vehicle. As I approached and cleared the intersection, I observed the vehicle I was pursuing to be overturned and on fire. I immediately contacted Troop C Communications and advised them that the violator had crashed, the vehicle was overturned, and the vehicle was on fire. I advised Troop C Communications that I needed Fire, EMS, and all units to be en route to my location as quickly as possible. I exited my patrol car and began checking the vehicle to check on the subjects inside the vehicle. I observed two occupants entrapped in the vehicle and the vehicle was still on fire. At this time, I retrieved my fire extinguisher from my patrol car and extinguished the vehicle fire in an attempt to preserve the occupants’ lives inside until Fire and EMS could arrive on-scene. Trooper First Class Ginnel and Trooper First Class Buffington arrived on-scene shortly after the crash. TFC Buffington observed another subject laying next to the concrete wall on Lenox Road that had been ejected from the vehicle due to the crash. At this time, I contacted Troop C Communications and continued requesting Fire and EMS. Sergeant First Class Gass, Sergeant McAdams, and TFC Ayers also came to the scene to assist. The Atlanta Fire Department and Grady EMS arrived on-scene and pronounced the ejected passenger deceased on-scene. The Atlanta Fire Department and Grady EMS then worked together to extricate the driver and second passenger from inside the vehicle. Troop C Communications was contacted and advised to have the Troop C Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team respond to the scene. SFC Gass completed the crash investigation, and Cpl. Lee with Troop C SCRT handled the specialized portion of the investigation. SFC Gass contacted Troop C Communications and requested the Fulton County Medical Examiner respond to the scene in reference to the ejected passenger. The driver, later identified by his Tennessee driver’s license as Mr. Kenneth Poole, and passenger, later identified as Mr. Deterrius Minor, were transported to Grady Medical Center. Mr. Minor later succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision. Mr. Poole remains at Grady Medical Center. The ejected passenger was secured by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Green leafy material, suspected , was located on Mr. Jones’ person by the Fulton County Medical Examiner. Cpl. Lee, Troop C SCRT, located a Glock 19 (9MM) in the roadway near the crash scene.”
