The Plymouth Barracuda is a classic American muscle car that was produced by the Plymouth division of Chrysler from 1964 to 1974. Known for its distinctive fastback style, the Barracuda was among the first cars to enter the pony car segment, predating the Ford Mustang by a few weeks. It went through three generations during its production run, evolving from a sporty compact to a high-performance muscle car. Production of the Barracuda ended in 1974 due to the changing automotive market, increased regulations, and the decline of the muscle car era. Today, it remains a sought-after collector’s car, particularly the rare high-performance models.
