VIDEO: A Look Back At The Dodge Magnum SRT8 | OG SRT Street Sleeper!

Today we take a trip back to the mid 2000’s to pay homage to the OG SRT “Street Sleeper”, the Dodge Magnum SRT8. Before the Scat Packs, Hellcats and Trackhawks of new, SRT cars used to have a number associated with them that represented the amount of cylinders under the hood. From the SRT4 Neon and Caliber to the SRT6 Chrysler Crossfire all the way up to the SRT10 Viper and Viper Truck, these vehicles were special. Being a V8 lover the SRT8 vehicles were always my favorite, they came in Magnum, Chrysler 300, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Charger and later Challenger form. The Dodge Magnum SRT8 was a high-performance version of the Magnum station wagon. It featured a powerful 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine delivering 425hp and 425ft-lbs of torque. The best thing about the Magnum version was it’s rather docile appearance allowing it to prowl the streets breaking red-light racers feelings left and right. Watch along as Throttle house takes us for a ride in this Magnum SRT8 owned by celebrity drummer Dave Elitch while discussing the history of the car. “The 2008 Dodge Magnum SRT8 ($38,105 USD) is a Hemi V8 that has been turned up a notch. It has a 6.1L engine that exclusively powers the rear wheels, and puts out 425 hp to the crank, with a claimed 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds. It’s the perfect rival to your snobby neighbour’s new Audi A4 Allroad. Or is it? Maybe that all falls flat when driven? Let’s find out in the canyons.”
