The Dodge Demon 170 and Tesla Model S Plaid are two incredibly powerful cars, each showcasing different technological approaches and strengths. The 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 boasts an impressive 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the few gas-powered production cars with over 1,000 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 1.66 seconds and complete a quarter-mile run in 8.91 seconds. These figures are achieved on a prepped surface with E85 fuel, marking the Demon 170 as one of the fastest production gas-powered cars ever. The 2023 Tesla Model S Plaid produces slightly less horsepower at 1,020 but demonstrates the advancements in electric vehicle technology. It features a tri-motor, all-wheel drive (AWD) setup and achieves 0-60 mph in about 1.98 seconds under favorable conditions, and completes the quarter-mile in approximately 9.25 seconds at 152.6 mph.
